New discovery – secured exclusively for Poljot24: During my visit to the watch manufacturers Red Star (Shenzhen) and Seagull (Tianjin) in April 2025, I discovered this special model directly at Red Star and immediately selected it for my customers at Poljot24.de.

The familiar design of the legendary Red Star 1963 chronographs has been consistently evolved: no chronograph function, but instead a beautifully executed multi-calendar and an impressive day/night display with sun and moon at the 6 o’clock position.

The Movement – Seagull ST1654 Automatic

This Red Star is powered by the reliable Seagull ST1654 automatic movement, featuring shock protection and bi-directional automatic winding. A robust and dependable calibre, perfectly suited for everyday wear.

Historical Background – The DNA of the Red Star 1963

The roots of this design go back to 1961, when the Tianjin Watch Factory was commissioned to develop the first Chinese pilot chronograph for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. After extensive testing, series production began in 1963, with 1,400 watches delivered to the air force.

During my visit in April 2025, I was able to personally tour both the Seagull factory in Tianjin (movement production) and the Red Star workshop in Shenzhen (watch assembly) – an impressive combination of tradition and modern manufacturing.
