Poljot International Tourbillon Emerald – Mechanical Watchmaking with a 72-Hour Power Reserve
With the new Tourbillon Emerald, Poljot International presents an exceptional mechanical timepiece that puts its fascinating technology firmly in the spotlight.
The green guilloché dial reveals the tourbillon at 6 o'clock as well as the two mainspring barrels, allowing you to observe the mechanical hand-wound movement at work.
What is a Tourbillon?
The tourbillon was developed by Abraham-Louis Breguet at the end of the 18th century. The balance wheel, pallet fork and escape wheel are housed inside a small rotating cage. Originally designed to compensate for positional errors in mechanical pocket watches, the tourbillon is today regarded as one of the most fascinating and sophisticated constructions in mechanical watchmaking.
On the Tourbillon Emerald, the tourbillon cage is prominently positioned at 6 o'clock. The seconds are indicated by Poljot International's distinctive arrow-shaped tourbillon bridge.
Two Mainspring Barrels – 72-Hour Power Reserve
Another special feature of the mechanical Calibre 3450 hand-wound movement is its twin-barrel construction. The two mainspring barrels provide a power reserve of up to 72 hours. Visible through openings in the dial, they make the mechanical operation of the watch an integral part of its design.
The reverse side is equally fascinating: the sapphire crystal case back provides a clear view of the elaborately skeletonised mechanical movement. The watch is fitted with sapphire crystal on both the front and back.
The stainless-steel case measures 42 mm in diameter and, at just 9.5 mm in height, is remarkably slim for a tourbillon timepiece. The rich green guilloché dial is complemented by silver-coloured appliqués and hands.
