Strela Cosmos 1965 – Space History on Your Wrist

Powered by the Extremely Rare Poljot 2609H Hand-Wound Movement

The Strela Cosmos 1965CO40 is far more than just a wristwatch – it is a tribute to the golden age of Soviet space exploration and to the first spacewalk in human history.

This exceptional STRELA model is developed and produced in cooperation with Sturmanskie Volmax in Moscow. For enthusiasts of Russian watches, the name Sturmanskie has stood for authentic space heritage and high-quality mechanical timepieces for decades. It is no coincidence that Sturmanskie was the official watch supplier to Soviet and later Russian cosmonauts.

At the heart of the Strela Cosmos is not a modern mass-produced movement, but a true mechanical treasure: the legendary Poljot Caliber 2609H, sourced from the former First Moscow Watch Factory.

Each movement originates from historical NOS (New Old Stock) inventories and has been carefully disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and regulated. As production of this caliber ended many years ago, original examples have become exceptionally rare today.

The combination of authentic space history, classic Strela design and a historic Poljot movement makes the Strela Cosmos an extraordinary collector's piece for lovers of mechanical watches.

Inspiration: Alexei Leonov and the First Spacewalk

The beautifully engraved stainless steel caseback commemorates March 18, 1965. On that day, Alexei Leonov became the first human being to leave a spacecraft and float freely in outer space.

This historic achievement marked a milestone in space exploration and remains a symbol of courage, technical innovation and the spirit of discovery.

The Strela Cosmos 1965 carries this remarkable story on the wrist while combining it with traditional Russian watchmaking craftsmanship.

The Movement – Poljot 2609H

Among collectors, the Poljot 2609H is regarded as one of the most successful and reliable hand-wound movements ever produced by the Soviet watch industry.

Technical Features:
