With the UMF RUHLA MELKUS Automatic, the traditional watchmaker from Thuringia presents a timepiece that is much more than a watch. It is a tribute to the legendary Melkus sports car from Dresden – one of the most fascinating German super sports cars of its era.

The MELKUS Automatic is the first automatic watch in the Melkus series: sporty, distinctive and full of design cues that motorsport enthusiasts will recognize instantly.

Racing-inspired design

The dial is clearly inspired by automotive engineering. Built in two levels, the raised scale deliberately evokes a classic speedometer. The color scheme in black with red accents captures the dynamic spirit of historic racing cars and creates an impressive sense of depth.

Generous Super-LumiNova on numerals and hands ensures excellent legibility – even in low light conditions.

Mechanical “engine” from Japan

Inside beats the proven Seiko / TMI NH35A automatic movement – a robust and reliable workhorse with hand-winding option, known for durability and stable performance.

The date window at 3 o’clock integrates neatly into the design and underlines the watch’s everyday usability.

Solid case – built like a sports car

The 42 mm 316L stainless steel case feels powerful without being bulky. The screw-down crown is well-sized, easy to grip and features a fine logo engraving.

A flat, slightly raised sapphire crystal protects the dial permanently against scratches. With a water resistance of 10 ATM (100 meters), the MELKUS Automatic is not only sporty in looks, but also technically ready for daily wear.

Retro racing strap – handcrafted

The handcrafted calf leather racing strap with classic perforation perfectly complements the motorsport theme. Its black leather with red stitching matches the dial beautifully and offers a comfortable fit.
