Poljot International “Sputnik” – Made in Germany. Inspired by the Dawn of Space Exploration.
With second Time Zone and Day & Night Indicator!
With the new Poljot International Sputnik, the watch manufacturer from Alzenau, Germany, presents an extraordinary tribute to one of the greatest milestones in human history: the launch of Sputnik 1 on October 4th, 1957 – the world’s very first artificial satellite.
That historic moment marked the beginning of the space age. Today, this pioneering spirit lives on in a fascinating mechanical timepiece.
The “Sputnik” combines technical sophistication, detailed craftsmanship and an impressive space-inspired design into a watch that immediately captures attention. The elaborately skeletonized dial recalls the complex instruments of early space missions while simultaneously revealing the beautifully engraved hand-wound movement beneath.
Especially remarkable:
At 3 o’clock, the legendary Sputnik satellite symbolically orbits the Earth while also displaying the second time zone – a stunning detail for world travelers and lovers of exceptional complications. The day/night indicator at 9 o’clock with its sun, moon and starry sky design further enhances the cosmic character of the watch. The small seconds at 6 o’clock resemble an orbital path in space, perfectly integrated into the overall design.
The striking blue-coated hands and luminous hour markers ensure excellent readability while giving the watch a modern and almost futuristic appearance. The grey-blue suede leather strap beautifully reflects the colors of the sky and outer space.
Through the exhibition case back, the heart of the watch becomes visible: the skeletonized and engraved Caliber 9931-PI hand-wound movement with a power reserve of approximately 36 hours – pure mechanical fascination.
This exceptional model is manufactured in Germany by the renowned Poljot International brand in Alzenau. The combination of German craftsmanship, creative design and mechanical watchmaking makes the “Sputnik” a true collector’s piece.
