Strela Officer Chronograph OF38CYS – Rare collector’s piece with decorated Poljot 3133

With the Strela Officer OF38CYS, we present an exceptional chronograph that continues the great tradition of Soviet watchmaking. At its heart beats the legendary Poljot 3133 caliber – one of the last classic chronograph movements produced in Russia and today a highly sought-after rarity.

The heart: Poljot 3133 – a piece ofa horological history

The manual-winding Poljot 3133 is one of the most important chronograph movements of the late Soviet era. Its origins date back to the 1970s, when the First Moscow Watch Factory (Poljot) acquired machinery and expertise based on the Swiss Valjoux 7734 and developed it into a robust and reliable in-house chronograph movement.

Among collectors and enthusiasts, the 3133 enjoys an excellent reputation. It is known for its durability, distinct character and ease of servicing – a true mechanical workhorse with historical significance. Since production of this caliber ceased years ago, original Poljot 3133 movements are becoming increasingly rare. Especially desirable are versions like this one, featuring a decorated movement with Geneva stripes.

A particularly appealing detail of this Strela Officer: although the movement technically includes a date function, the date display has been intentionally concealed. This preserves the clean and balanced dial design in the spirit of the classic Russian chronographs of the 1960s.

Classic Strela design with historical character

The white guilloché dial with Cyrillic lettering gives the watch its distinctive appearance. The blue telemeter scale and red tachymeter scale emphasize its classic instrument style, while the “Class 1” marking is a tribute to the historic export models of the Soviet era.

The legendary Russian chronographs of the 1960s were marketed under the names Poljot, Sekonda and Strela. At that time, a distinction was made between higher-grade export models (“Class 1”) and versions for the domestic Soviet market. While this distinction no longer exists today, the “Class 1” marking on this dial is a stylish homage to that era.
