The Strela Chronograph Civil CI40CY is far more than just a watch. It is a tribute to the legendary Strela chronographs produced by the First Moscow Watch Factory (Poljot) from the 1950s to the 1970s – watches worn by Soviet cosmonauts, test pilots and engineers.
As a long-standing Strela specialist, I am particularly pleased to offer this model again – it is a regular companion on my own wrist.
Strela & Spaceflight – Chronographs for Cosmonauts
Original Poljot Strela chronographs were among the most important timekeeping instruments of the Soviet space program. They were worn by Alexei Leonov, the first human to perform a spacewalk, as well as by other cosmonauts and pilots.
A defining feature of these early Strela models was the legendary Poljot 3017 column-wheel chronograph movement, based on the Swiss Venus 150 – still regarded today as one of the most elegant chronograph calibres ever built.

The modern Strela CI40CY follows this tradition faithfully by using a true column-wheel chronograph movement:
