Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky is one of the most important people in aviation history - bornon May 25, 1889 in Kiev, Sikorsky was also a scientist, engineer, pilot and entrepreneur in one person. Inspired by the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci and the stories of Jules Verne, he built at the age of 12 years a helicpoter model, driven by a rubber band. After many aeronautical inventions Sikorsky emigrated because of the revolution in 1918 to the United States. In 1939, the first flight took place in his helicopter. Sikorsky loved going to amuse his audience, and always wore a fedora on all flights - see picture and engraved on the clock. The highly decorated, Russian aviation pioneer died 1972 and the "Sikorsky Aircraft" company based in Connecticut, is with the models' Seahawk and Blackhawk " one of the most important helicopter manufacturers worldwide.
Aviator Sikorsky Chronograph:
This chronograph has an angular brushed stainless steel case with 41 mm diameter ( with crown 51 mm ) and 14 mm height.
Poljot manual winding caliber 3133 with 23 jewels, 21.600 halfrotations/hour, shock protection and approx. 48 hours power reserve.
The slightly curved mineral crystal is surrounded by a one-sided resting, rotating bezel and pushers are equipped with distinctive springs. The screwed back shows an image of the famous Sikorsky helicopter with him personally (including fedora, of course) at the controls.
The luminous numerals and luminous hands are very easy to read. On the back on the lower right , the number of the limitation is engraved. Weight of the watch = around 100 grams!
