Operating the chronograph feels wonderfully traditional – reminiscent of classic pocket watch mechanisms.
Historical Background of the Movement
The Poljot 3133 is based on the Valjoux 7734, whose machines, designs and manufacturing know-how were transferred to Moscow in the 1970s. Russian engineers strengthened the balance and optimized the movement for greater durability.
The result: one of the most iconic chronograph calibers of the Soviet era – today highly sought after among collectors worldwide.
Poljot – An Icon of Soviet Watchmaking
The history of Poljot dates back to 1930, when the “First Moscow Watch Factory” began producing the first mass-market Russian watch movements on imported Dueber-Hampden (USA) machines. Throughout the 1950s–1990s, Poljot became a global force – producing up to 5 million watches per year.
In 1964 the factory was renamed Poljot (“Flight”), reflecting its role in aviation and space missions. When Poljot ceased production in 2004, it marked the end of an era – making original Poljot watches especially collectible today.
