What Is a 24-Hour Watch?
On a 24-hour watch, the hour hand completes just one rotation in 24 hours (instead of two rotations on 12-hour watches). 12 marks noon; 24 / 0 marks midnight. This helps time orientation during long nights or days (polar regions, expeditions, submarines) and avoids AM/PM confusion. Reading it is simple: the hour hand points directly to the hours 0–24; the minute hand works as usual.
